Wednesday post
The discussion in class today was very thought provoking and I thought it was interesting that we were able to discuss what's beyond deep space and also relate it to Notes from the underground. I found myself wondering whether I would want to put limits on the universe if I could. After considering it I thought it even more unsettling that we are alone in a enclosed universe. In retrospect , both perspectives are quite unsettling as their scope is way beyond anything I could grasp. In my head , while we had our heads down , I pictured the limitations on the universe being an end point where anything that comes after is just darkness. I don't know if that is supposed to be comforting for anyone but just thinking about it was unsettling for me. It's almost like as humans you simply cannot be content with the fact that you're on some planet in an ever-expanding universe of which you have absolutely no control over. The control part is critical as the control you have your surroundings bring the comfort we talked about yesterday ; However, every man is humbled when he looks up at the sky.
