On friday we watched Billnye the science guy debate with a creationist. I believe that Bill clearly won. First of all the creationist's argument only had one point, because you can not observe the past you can not make claims about the past, so the only thing you can trust is the bible. Bill had six solid arguments, he argued fossil layers, seeing stars further then 6 thousand lightyears, carbon dating, trees, and animal migration paths. in the creationist's re-huddle he was only capable of answering the carbon dating question by showing example of when carbon dating was wrong. However, carbon dating has been tested hundreds of times and in fact it was actually tested by the Vatican. They gave scientist from around the world samples of fake cloth and one sample of the cloth from the nativity of jesus. All science groups were able to identify the age of the fake cloths and that from the birth of jesus. This study should make any christian believe in the legitimacy of carbon dating. But the creationist is being ignorant and ignoring the abundance of data proving his ideas wrong.
