Covering the idea that life is about the journey rather than the destination, today’s class discussion hit some key points that I found interesting. Personally, I understand what the narrator means when he emphasizes that taking point B away is like chasing infinity –you don’t know where you are going or what’s in store. Yet having an end point, a destination, a goal is a wall that we embrace, and while it’s comforting to know what we are after, we also lose the journey because the entire process is about getting there. For this reason, I feel that there is no one specific way to live –society encourages us to both work towards a goal we can be proud of whilst enjoying it at the same time. Some people are lucky enough to achieve this while others inevitably end up on either side of the spectrum; just as the narrator mentions, we must take care not to treat life like an equation that can be logically solved, yet must also ensure the natural human tendency for chaos and destruction does not overwhelm us.
