Today’s discussion in class, which centered on the idea that
every bit of reasoning we have is made up, definitely made me think. It’s very hard to comprehend that two plus
two doesn’t equal two in an infinite universe because it is just human logic
that has made it this way. If humans
were removed from the situation, there wouldn’t be any math, logic, philosophy,
or reasoning. Everything we study from
natural constants and mathematical equations are manmade and therefore not
proven fact. I think it is impossible
for people to try and exist outside of this world of logic we have
created. It is too scary and lonely to
attempt to remove ourselves from society and accept that in reality, we know
next to nothing about the universe we are in.
Reading through the first time in Notes I didn’t notice all of these
deep arguments implanted into the text, but these discussions are helping me to
see them.
