Monday Discussion

Today’s discussion in class, which centered on the idea that every bit of reasoning we have is made up, definitely made me think.  It’s very hard to comprehend that two plus two doesn’t equal two in an infinite universe because it is just human logic that has made it this way.  If humans were removed from the situation, there wouldn’t be any math, logic, philosophy, or reasoning.  Everything we study from natural constants and mathematical equations are manmade and therefore not proven fact.  I think it is impossible for people to try and exist outside of this world of logic we have created.  It is too scary and lonely to attempt to remove ourselves from society and accept that in reality, we know next to nothing about the universe we are in.  Reading through the first time in Notes I didn’t notice all of these deep arguments implanted into the text, but these discussions are helping me to see them.
