Keri Wednesday

Today's discussion of "Notes from the Underground" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky was eye-opening. It made me realize my own mildly violent instincts which I previously had no idea existed. This notion that people always have this instinct to take another who they do not like down seems correct. However, it scares me for the future of society. If every human being has this innate desire to injure another person, what will come of human nature not even ten years from now? Eventually, people may stop hiding their intent of destruction to instead, showcase it to the world.
Examples of this unraveling were talked about in class but I thought the school stairs example was the best. It shows this from the grassroots in a way that all of the students in our class certainly understood. We have all been there. It is an unfortunate truth and I am starting to realize that it is a part of human nature.
