Ryan Cordero Monday Post

I think the narrator almost envies the normal, stupid man because he is able to take on revenge and be a bull. The narrator is incapable of any action and lives life in his corner, as oppose to the normal man who cannot see both sides and therefore can act upon impulses. Also the idea of the wall is relevant and relatable. People care most about appearances and the perception of others. The wall allows a person to get their point across, without actually having to do anything, i.e. Juan acting as a wall between Shapiro and Phillip. I view the idea of the conscious man viewing himself as the mouse happens because the conscious man, like the stranger, knows he knows nothing and can therefore relate to a mouse. I also see how conscious man is a mouse because the normal man is capable of action and is therefor above the conscious man.
