Isa's Reaction 2/10/14

What struck me about today's discussion was this concept of the "mouse." It's oddly ironic that this man is so smart and so conscious that these attributes have led to his own inability to act. What would be virtues have become vices. He is incapable of acting because he knows better, but is bitter and resentful when forced not to act. It seems torturous, especially since lesser men, men he looks down up for knowing so little can achieve more. It would seem almost insulting that the real "mice", men controlled by solely their own impulses, are enjoying themselves more than him in said mindlessness. Though this narrator has no "wall" it seems a lack of barrier has become his own obstacle.
