Ryan Pearson NFTU Friday

Today's viewing of the debate between Bill Nye and Ken Ham was refreshing. It was nice to see Bill Nye's point of view, which is more aligned with mine. He brought up several fascinating points which I had never thought of that further invalidate Ken Ham's argument. For one, if the global flood truly did take place, should there not be more than one Grand Canyon? Also, his point about there being no evidence of kangaroo fossils from the Middle East after the flood to Australia was mind blowing. These were just a small part of what I found interesting in his speech. I appreciate learning about both sides of the argument, but it appeared to me as though Ken Ham's points came across as silly "religious propaganda," rather than a serious discussion. I noticed how enthusiastic and personable the audience was when he was talking, yet how cold and distant it was when Bill Nye had the floor, instead. An interesting point about humans I have witnessed is how unenthusiastic we are collectively when we are presented with something unknown or something we are unfamiliar with. Dostoevsky was right on the money when he mentioned this over 100 years ago. He is growing increasingly more impressive to me.
