Ryan Pearson NFTU Monday

Today's discussion was perfectly summed up in Raoul's reaction to our comments. He refused to look past society's conceptual ideas and look at the bigger picture. Also, Shapiro's example using Juan and Phil really helped to solidify the idea in my head. While most people use the phrase "hold me back, bro" as a joke, it does, in fact, stem from its truthful meaning. I, along with just about every one of my peers, can relate to the concept of doing things to be "noticed and acknowledged," or for an effect. This is known as "pushing someones buttons." It is very common. The theoretical wall and the religion associated with it came up again today in class. It is amazing to see the repetition of the concept and the evidence of it in the real world after learning of it. Personally, I am currently stuck between 2 different choices of actions that will impact the rest of my school year. Like the narrator, I see both the good and the bad of each argument. I pull knowledge from this story, hoping that its wisdom will give me ideas of how to implement it in the near future.
