Today's discussion on picturing infinity was a mindf*uck. Our life is full of finite things; objects, events, and even our own lives. Therefore, it is impossible for us to comprehend what an infinite involves (or better yet, what it does not involve).
I throughly enjoyed the conversation about breaking down and building new walls because the idea makes so much sense. Our minds are constantly trying to create order, whether this is making sure we put all our pencils back in our pencil case, or organizing our thoughts. When someones tries to disprove the order we have spent so long believing and establishing, we resist it because we do not want to have to be left without a wall, and there is no guarantee that this wall will be built back anytime soon. Human life is just breaking down one wall only to form another. Disproving "truths" using new truths, which will eventually be replaced as well. However, because this world is made of up infinities, there will never be an end. We will continue to break down and build up walls until the end of time.
