Tuesday's post juan pino

Today in class we discussed the idea of the wall and how society craves this wall. We humans find security in our limitations. Dostoyevski presented this idea as a wall. We are confined to these walls but at the same time find comfort in it. I brought up in class the idea that in hopelessness you find relief because you grow to accept your fate. I also found it interesting how in class we discussed what it would be like to have your wall turned down and how this in particular affected the 19th century. It is crazy to think how the entire generation was affected in the same exact way, and honestly I can’t imagine what it would be like to have all of my beliefs destroyed at once. I would definitely undergo the same fate as many of these 19th century people and be struck with fear, depression etc.
