Ryan Cordero Wednesday Discussion

The concept of infinity is an interesting one because most people accept the idea of infinity even though it's impossible to visualize and totally accept the concept. When we did the visualization of infinity in class I kept on imagining a sort of boundary and it was basically impossible to visualize that anything can actually go on forever. I thought about the idea that space is constantly expanding, which begs the question what is space expanding into? Is there another universe that is also expanding and what will happen when they collide? It is a very frustrating concept because there are questions that have no answer and what we consider fact today might be proved completely wrong in the future. This all relates to Dostoyevky's belief that a wall is necessary for society and when the wall disappears order in general happiness is lost in society. I think that eventually our wall of science and logic that exists today will be knocked down and replaced by I don't know what; but I think people and society tends to change enough that a new wall will be created.
