Honestly, I would want to know if God was real. Not because I would be rushing myself to church and/or confession every chance I got, but just to know. Not for answers or for a guide as to how to live my life, just to know. However, I can’t help but wonder to what extent would people’s lives actually change if we knew God existed for certain? I think the answer to that all has to do with how this God is portrayed. If Shapiro, or anyone for that matter, had fully convinced us, “God without a doubt exists, but he is an angry God. Therefore you will spend an eternity in hell if you do x, y, and z”, then I think most people would try to change some aspect of our life to avoid that at all costs: go to temple more often, go to church every sunday, etcetera. If people were told “God exists, but he is forgiving”, I think they would all go about their lives just the same.
