Isa's third reaction
Religion is a "science" that can never fully be proven. But both the hopes and consequences it represents are very real to people. The question of whether or not I would like to be convinced that God 100 % existed was immediately clear to me. I would not, under any circumstance, want to know. The underground man might scoff at this, citing my refusal of consciousness. The immediate word that came to my mind when Shap asked that question was pressure. Knowing that you are always being watched, and in a sense, judged, seems like a constricting bind and ironically, an obstacle to achieving true happiness. How can one be completely liberated if their decisions decide their fate; heaven or hell?
