Although I missed the discussion on Monday, based off of the
blogposts it seems the topic was related to our ability to listen to others.
Interesting enough, my friends always b*tch at me because I have major
selective hearing. I never thought of it as if I didn’t care because I do care
about what happens to them. I guess I just have the tendency to zone out. I
think our tendency to not listen when it doesn’t pertain to you is more
relevant when talking to people you don’t know that well or maybe the topic is
just boring. I think that if someone has some important to say most people will
happily listen. The other part of the discussion is I guess where the concept
of the wall was first introduced. I can understand why people were skeptical
when Darwin first came out with his theory of evolution. He completely flipped
their lives upside down, basically rejecting everything they ever believed in.
I think that as long as there is always some type of wall to lean on/believe in
most people can adjust and live their lives about the same (just with different
beliefs). Sorry this is late :)
