I enjoyed the discussion we had today although I did not understand how Darwin's theories of evolution in the 19th century made men unhappy. Although it certainty disproves a creationist standpoint , I do not see how it could make people refute god altogether.I think , if anything , the evolutionist standpoint adds wonder to the world considering how hard it is to fathom that we somehow evolved as a species over successive generations. As for choosing whether to know if god exists or not , I would rather not know as I would rather leave those kinds of mysteries unexplained. I could see why some people would want to know as some would find pleasure in the certainty of it all. In keeping the existence of god unknown , it gives something people to believe which many people find comfort in.
