I like the discussion we had
regarding the “wall” today in class. I thought the example Juan gave about
failing a test, and accepting it because once you do then there’s no where you
can really go but up. I thought that this was a really interesting concept and something
very relatable. I feel like there are always going to be “walls” since there is
no way to ever really understand or know everything. When one wall is torn
down, then another one is put it and it’s a constant cycle. I find this really
frustrating because of the fact that you could never know everything, and that
is very very frustrating. I also thought the discussion about the “sublime and
beautiful” was interesting. By destroying the beautiful you are taking control
and power over it. I understand where he’s coming from and I have also had
similar feelings by doing things, or saying things to things or people. I think
it is a strange a concept and not one that many people would like to attribute
to themselves because basically you’re saying “yeah I do horrible things and I
get pleasure from it”, and that sounds very sadistic.
