Natalies Reaction

I have really enjoyed reading the novel thus far. What I have seen greatly emphasized in the novel thus far is the distinction between people who act and people with consciousness. He basically says that the more you think, the less likely you are to act. This happens because the more insightful you become, the more "pointless" things become, therefore someone insightful would be less likely to enact revenge. Although some people have stated that this book is not very applicable to their lives, I believe it is. I feel that if you have very strong feelings about something, and you sit down for a moment to think actually think about it, you lose those feelings. I found it interesting when the narrator states that he would like to be lazy, because that meant that he would be something. I feel like his over-conscious mind makes him undecided and therefore he can never define himself as one particular "thing", but rather he is a series of thoughts and beliefs.
