Isa's 3rd Reaction
This next portion elaborated on the narrator's youth and how his strange point of view seems to have been ingrained since he was very young. Through these flashbacks it's obvious that the narrator is demonstrating just how severe his personality "quirks", if you can call it those, are. His constant ramblings on his coworker's intellectual ability again demonstrates just how insecure he is with himself. Why fixated on other people's flaws if one isn't hyper aware of their own? The contradictory thoughts expressed are both thought provoking and frustrating. They interest the reader because they demonstrate just how whimsical and subject to change the human mind can be. But they are extremely frustrating for me because not only do they leave me confused, but no sympathy is generated for this character when I can't even wrap my head around who or what he is.
