Alexa Ferrer Post 4

I am more excited about part 2 because we know get more insight to the narrator as a person and what caused him to have such conflicting thoughts. I find the diction interesting and how he says, “I made friends with no one” instead of “I had no friends.” It’s almost as if it was his choice to live a life of solitude because everyone around him was too incompetent to match his standards of a person. (such standards not even he can figure out yet because he doesn’t know them). I think his insecurities had nothing to do with his looks. What he wanted was for his intelligence to be validated but since he did not speak to anyone, the way he looked came into play. He understands so much about his circumstances but always seems so unsatisfied with life. I think he hated his coworkers because they did not validate his existence in the way he wished to be seen by others.
